Roulette has long held bettors spellbound. While its mechanics may be straightforward, its addictive excitement keeps bettors coming back for more every spin of its wheel containing phoned number compartments and ball. To maximize your Roulette experience and prevent common missteps from spoiling it all for you.
Before the wheel begins spinning, a croupier (the name used for dealers in roulette) will ask players to purchase chips ranging in value from $1 up to $100 depending on the table in use. Once purchased, each player will be assigned their own colored chip so it is easy for the croupier (dealer in French) to track which bets each person is placing.
Once bets have been placed, the croupier will throw the ball into a spinning wheel. Players then watch as it bounces around until finally landing into one of several pockets that mark a specific number on the table. At that point, winning bets are paid out while losing ones are cleared from the table before starting all over again with another round of betting and spinning!
If you want to increase your odds of success in gambling, bet on outside bets (groupings of numbers instead of individual digits). They are generally cheaper and have higher odds of hitting. Avoid grandiose strategies or depending on “hot hands”, as there will always be players with more luck than you.
The Dozens Bet: This bet predicts that the winning number will appear among either the first 12 or second dozen numbers on a table and offers a payout ratio of 2-1.
Outside Bets: With this type of bet, if your score falls between 1 to 36 you must place two consecutive rows’ worth of chips in a horizontal line that spans both rows to cover both adjacent ones and win by 11-1 the payout will be.
Line Bet/Six Number Bet: Also referred to as sixain in French, this bet spans across two rows of three consecutive numbers in either direction and offers more conservative odds – though with only 5-1 payout potential.
Casinos could easily reduce predication by calling “no more bets” before starting to spin the wheel, but that would cut into their profits and turn away casual gamblers. Instead, the industry attempts to design out flaws that lead to predictions happening. To see this in person and understand how a roulette wheel works best is by visiting one and looking at its design such as depth of pockets, height of wheelhead, curve of bowl and more – then, with luck, you might even get the chance to try your hand at it yourself – then, don’t forget fun – and don’t be afraid if it looks like your are losing big time; just walk away early if possible – it may save a big loss!
